Enjoy this message God gave through | 1:1-3 |
His son, an angel, John, to you. | 1:1-3 |
All praise and power and glory be | 1:6 |
to Christ who paid our penalty. | 1:5 |
Now clean we serve our God because | 1:6 |
He always is and always was. | 1:8 |
John, exiled 'cause he preached the Word | 1:9 |
was in the Spirit when he heard | 1:10 |
a voice that said, like trumpet sound, | 1:10 |
"The things you see, go write them down". | 1:11 |
By golden lampstands, Son of Man | 1:12 |
with golden sash and stars in hand, | 1:13,16 |
his hair like snow, his eyes ablaze, | 1:14 |
his face like sunshine's brilliant rays, | 1:16 |
his voice like rushing waters roared, | 1:15 |
and from his mouth, a two-edged sword. | 1:16 |
John fell and at his feet he laid. | 1:17 |
But then God said, "Don't be afraid." | 1:17 |
"I am the First, the Last, the One. | 1:18 |
Death and the cross, I've overcome." | 1:18 |
"Now write this down, it's meant to guide | 1:19 |
the seven aspects of my bride. | 1:20 |
I know you, Prophet, have endured. | 2:2 |
By none who lie have you been lured. | 2:2-3 |
But where's the love you had at first? | 2:4 |
Now change your heart, I'll quench your thirst. | 2:5,7 |
Dear Servant: I know times are hard. | 2:9 |
Still more the devil will bombard. | 2:10 |
Be faithful when the pain is rife | 2:10 |
and I will give the crown of life. | 2:10 |
Then Teacher: I know Satan's there, | 2:13 |
that you hold fast and don't despair, | 2:13 |
though, even when a brother dies. | 2:13 |
But why do you put up with lies? | 2:14-15 |
Reform the teachings I've deplored | 2:16 |
or I'll correct them with my sword. | 2:16 |
The victors will then, I proclaim, | 2:17 |
get hidden bread and a new name. | 2:17 |
Encourager, I know your works. | 2:19 |
In victory I'll give you perks. | 2:26 |
Authority from near to far. | 2:27 |
I'll also give the morning star. | 2:28 |
But you put up with Jezebel, | 2:20 |
whose so-called secrets come from hell. | 2:24 |
I'm sending hardships to her kind, | 2:22 |
then you'll know I search heart and mind. | 2:23 |
Now Giver church, I have bad news: | 3:1 |
I see through your religious ruse. | 3:1 |
Repent and ever-watchful be | 3:2-3 |
like those who get to walk with me. | 3:4 |
And Leaders: See the open door | 3:8 |
that, through your weakness, strength I pour | 3:8 |
to keep my word and to endure | 3:10 |
to keep your heav'nly crown secure. | 3:11-12 |
To those who have the Mercy gift: | 3:14 |
Don't think you'r rich when you're adrift. | 3:17-18 |
The lukewarm make me want to puke. | 3:15-16 |
Because I love you, I rebuke. | 3:19 |
Be earnest, turn away from sin. | 3:19 |
I'm at the door, just let me in. | 3:20 |
And if you trust in me alone | 3:21 |
I'll let you join me on my throne." | 3:21 |
Then after this, an open door | 4:1 |
led John to heaven to see more. | 4:1 |
The Lord was seated on a throne. | 4:2 |
He shined like brilliant precious stone. | 4:3 |
And men with crowns of gold surround | 4:4 |
while voices, flames, and thunder sound. | 4:5 |
Four creatures that each have six wings, | 4:7 |
they never rest but always sing, | 4:8 |
"Almighty God, past, future, now." | 4:8 |
The men throw down their crowns and bow. | 4:9-10 |
"You're worthy God, none higher rated. | 4:11 |
For by your will all was created." | 4:11 |
Now in his hand God held a scroll | 5:1 |
that none could open, not a soul. | 5:2-4 |
Until a Lamb with seven eyes | 5:5-6 |
he took it, for he qualifies | 5:7 |
because he purchased with his blood | 5:9 |
a people once just filled with crud. | 5:10 |
Now clean and serving God as priests. | 5:10 |
Sing praise that never shall be ceased. | 5:11-13 |
The scroll Christ held had seven seals. | 5:1 |
Each one a plan of God reveals. | 6:1 |
He opened one, a horse all white | 6:1 |
was sent with crown to win each fight. | 6:2 |
The next, a horse all fiery red | 6:3 |
took peace from earth - men killed men dead. | 6:4 |
The third seal, a black horse unveils, | 6:5 |
its rider with a pair of scales. | 6:5 |
The fourth seal brought the Grave and Death, | 6:7 |
a pale horse who, with every breath, | 6:8 |
where God allowed them, killed with ease, | 6:8 |
by sword, by famine, by disease. | 6:8 |
Then when the fifth seal was unsealed | 6:9 |
beneath the altar was revealed | 6:9 |
those who for preaching met their fate. | 6:10 |
They asked for justice, told to wait. | 6:11 |
The sixth seal changed the universe. | 6:12-14 |
The unredeemed saw things get worse. | 6:15-17 |
An angel sealed the heads of some | 7:2 |
so they avoid the wrath to come. | 7:3 |
All praising God, a countless swarm. | 7:9-17 |
Then there was silence 'fore the storm. | 8:1 |
Our prayers as incense to God rose. | 8:2-4 |
Then fire came from trumpet blows. | 8:6 |
The first burned earth and grass and trees. | 8:7 |
The second turned to blood the seas. | 8:8-9 |
The third brought down the Wormwood star, | 8:10-11 |
which ruined waters near and far. | 8:11 |
The fourth took out one-third of light. | 8:12 |
"But oh", cried one, "the coming blight". | 8:13 |
A trumpet blew, the fifth one this, | 9:1 |
and locusts came from the abyss. | 9:2-3 |
They didn't kill, they just brought pain | 9:5-11 |
that those without the seal sustain. | 9:4 |
Then trumpet six sent those assigned | 9:13-15 |
to kill a third of humankind. | 9:16-19 |
Yet people, still, they chose to steal. | 9:21 |
To manmade idols still they kneel. | 9:20 |
Then said an angel down from heaven. | 10:5-6 |
"God's purpose comes with trumpet seven." | 10:7 |
John walked up to the angel great. | 10:8-9 |
He took the scroll, which then he ate. | 10:10 |
He learned that two would prophesy | 11:4-6 |
till more than three years had gone by. | 11:3 |
An evil beast will come and kill. | 11:7 |
They'll lay unburied, dead and still. | 11:8-9 |
People will laugh and celebrate | 11:10 |
till God makes them both stand up straight. | 11:11 |
When God says to the two "Come here", | 11:12 |
the people learn that God's to fear. | 11:13 |
And then the seventh trumpet blew. | 11:15 |
What was proclaimed was coming true. | 11:16 |
The whole world now is his domain, | 11:15 |
and always God and Christ will reign. | 11:15 |
Then those in heaven fell face down | 11:16 |
to praise the God of great renown. | 11:17-18 |
Two signs: A woman great with child | 12:1-2 |
next to a dragon huge and riled. | 12:3-4 |
The baby would be dragon's prey | 12:4 |
but God stepped in to save the day. | 12:5 |
Swept up the child, saved the mom. | 12:6 |
The dragon blew up like a bomb. | |
The there in heaven was a war. | 12:7 |
It's Michael's verus Satan's corps. | 12:7 |
The outcome never was in doubt. | 12:8 |
The devil's side was all thrown out. | 12:8-9 |
Now stuck on earth and furious, | 12:17 |
he aimed to be injurious | 12:17 |
to those who would not bow or cow'r | 12:17 |
so to a beast he gave his pow'r. | 13:2 |
And all the people worshipped it | 13:4 |
whose names weren't in the holy writ. | 13:8 |
It slaughtered saints and beat the pure. | 13:7 |
If you're there then, one word: endure. | 13:10 |
A second beast, skilled at deception, | 13:11-15 |
forbid all trade, with one exception | 13:16-17 |
Those on whose hand he does affix | 13:16-17 |
his number, which is six six six. | 13:18 |
The pure were singing on Mount Zion | 14:2-5 |
before the Lamb who is a Lion. | 14:1 |
Three angels made the truth well-known, | 14:6 |
"Fear God and worship him alone". | 14:7-12 |
An angel then was told to reap. | 14:14-15 |
The harvest came in one big sweep. | 14:16 |
Then those whose souls were grabbed like grapes, | 14:17-18 |
not one who's due God's wrath escapes. | 14:19-20 |
Meanwhile the faithful stood to sing, | 15:1-2 |
"Great are you God, and just, our King". | 15:3-4 |
Then angels stepped out on the path | 15:6 |
to get the bowls filled with God's wrath, | 15:7 |
and these were poured out one by one | 16:1-16 |
till from the throne God said "It's done". | 16:17 |
Then John was shown, from new location, | 17:3 |
Mother of Abomination. | 17:4-5 |
The city who loves earthly things | 17:18 |
and rules the ways of worldly kings. | 17:2 |
In drunken luxury does thrive, | 17:2 |
but at God's Word, will not survive. | 17:16-17 |
And at that Babylon the great, | 18:2 |
who boasted and loved goods ornate, | 18:7,14 |
devoured souls and fanned desire, | 18:13 |
was suddenly consumed by fire. | 18:8 |
Then "Hallelujah, Praise the Lord", | 19:1,6 |
a multitude in heaven roared. | 19:1,6 |
Salvation from God glorified, | 19:1-2 |
now marriage for Christ and his bride. | 19:7-8 |
So blessed are those at wedding feast, | 19:9 |
who join the Lamb and catch the beast | 19:20 |
and catch deceitful prophet too, | 19:20 |
their armies killed, Faithful and True. | 19:11,21 |
With victory over insurrection, | 19:19-21 |
the martyrs rose, first resurrection. | 20:4-6 |
They rule with Christ a thousand years | 20:4 |
till Satan, unbound, reappears. | 20:7-8 |
Fights to prevent what must transpire. | 20:9 |
He's thrown into the lake of fire. | 20:10 |
Before the throne, truth can't be fudged. | 20:11 |
By King of Kings, each will be judged. | 20:12 |
"Behold", said God, "I make things new. | 21:5 |
I am the first, the last, the true. | 21:6 |
The spring of life will thirst relieve, | 21:6 |
but not for those who don't believe." | 21:8 |
The Holy City then came down, | 21:2 |
a cube five thousand miles around. | 21:16 |
With walls of jasper, streets of gold, | 21:18 |
a brilliant glory to behold. | 21:11 |
There is no sun and yet no night, | 21:23 |
for God himself is city's light. | 21:23-24 |
Right in the city sits his throne. | 22:3 |
He'll live with us and call his own. | 22:4 |
His face we'll see and love we'll feel. | 22:4 |
His crops will quench and sate and heal. | 22:1-2 |
Be blessed and keep his words till then. | 22:7 |
"I'm coming soon", says Christ. Amen. | 22:20-21 |
